Whistleblowers still have to walk in with a box of paper

The statutes are on the books. The protections are a rumor. The press is often the only remaining hallway.

The civic myth says there is a process. You notify the inspector general. You wait. You are protected. The lived version is a security officer in a conference room and a career that ends in a parking lot.

Independent journalists keep inheriting the box of paper because the official hallway is not safe, and the legacy hallway is not curious. Curiosity is expensive. It makes advertisers nervous. It makes sources inside the building stop returning calls. It is also the only reason to keep a newsroom.

We will not publish raw dumps as a personality cult. We will read, corroborate, and print what can be stood up. That is slower than a social post and faster than a committee.

If you have documents, you do not owe us a monologue. You owe the public a record. We will treat it as one.
